Strength and Conditioning in the Naval Frogmans Unit have centered around a culture of aerobic training in the form of running. Karsten coached me to change the traditional aerobic training protocol towards a more functional approach. The soldiers perceived the change to be more relevant and challenging and manifested a significantly reduced injury rate. Karsten Jensen introduced a "multiple quality block – system," which perfectly fits our daily training. The Frogman Unit will miss Karsten's knowledge and friendly personality; however, his ideas on strength and conditioning will remain as long as I am the strength and conditioning coach.
