FPM BARBELL TRAINING SPECIALIST
How to Help your Athletes and Fitness Clients Achieve Faster Results by Creating Synergy Between Training of the Power and the Olympic Lifts

Karsten is a true technician and perfectly teaches the proper technique and progression in order for you to learn and show the lifts to your clients. Superb course.
Riaz Aziz, CPT, CSCS, CFST

The FPM Barbell Training Specialist program offers science-based yet extraordinary
practical tools to help strength coaches and personal trainers master the following
common scenarios encountered personally or with their athletes and fitness clients:

  • Clients want results NOW in the power lifts, Olympic lifts or body composition.

  • Clients have a real challenge with proper form in the power lifts or Olympic lifts.

  • Clients are unable to execute your instructions even though you say the "right things."

  • You want to improve your own form in the power lifts or Olympic lifts (so you can teach these lifts better).

  • You don’t have a lot of time to create written training programs, yet you want to help your clients to the best possible results (faster!).

  • You currently teach the squat, bench press and deadlift to your clients but want to see results even faster (without compromising the safety of your programs).

  • You want to teach Olympic lifting (snatch and clean and jerk) to your clients, are aware of the complexity and risk involved and want to learn an extremely effective and safe progression.

Most traditional barbell courses focus on either the power lifts OR the Olympic lifts. In contrast, the FPM Barbell Training Specialist Program offers you the strategy and tools to help your athlete or fitness client learn these amazing lifts faster, by teaching you how to create synergy between the training of power lifts and the training of Olympic lifts.

The FPM Barbell Training Specialist consists of two 8-hour days of training that can be attended in any order. (online or live workshops available)

To achieve the status of specialist, an optional multiple choice test must be completed after both days of training are completed.

The Science and Practice of the Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift workshop is a phenomenal resource to improve your client’s execution of the Big Three lifts. In the clinic, Kartsen outlines many of the factors that limit performance in these lifts and provides remedies that are beneficial way before you even touch a barbell. You will gain sensible coaching cues, improve body awareness and learn the best variations to appropriately suit your fitness clients and athletes.

I don't need motivation. I have enough for me and my competition!

What I needed was detailed technical advice and most importantly, experience. Karsten provided all that for me in a no-nonsense, professional package. His soft spoken and often understated manner spoke loudly to me. I just wanted the facts, and I got them.

I have worked with Karsten for over a year. In that time, he has taught me better positioning in all three of the competitive lifts of Squat, Bench Press and Deadlift. Not only has my total gone up significantly, I have been able to recover more efficiently. The sessions were very productive as Karsten spoke the same language spoken amongst powerlifters. There was no learning curve to speak of. We were able to get to work immediately. I don't have time to waste. Every minute wasted is training time I am giving away to my competition. Karsten understands this. Make no mistake, Karsten is a strength coach. If you just want to get into shape, go somewhere else.

How to Teach the Snatch, the Clean and the Jerk from the Ground and Up

During this 100% hands on training you will learn specific tools and strategies to help your athletes and clients

  • remove the primary block to learning the Olympic lifts by improving movement specific flexibility

  • prepare to learn the Power Snatch + Overhead Squat and Power Clean + Front Squat + Jerk by practicing “super stiffness” techniques during the warm up.

  • learn the power snatch + Overhead Squat faster with an exercise progression that integrates conventional and Olympic style Deadlifts, Barbell Snatch and Dumbbell Snatch, Dumbbell Overhead Squat and Barbell Overhead Squat.

  • learn the Power Clean + Front Squat + Jerk faster with an exercise progression that integrates conventional and Olympic style Deadlifts, Barbell Clean and Dumbbell Clean.

  • And more ... including the necessary modifications to teach Olympic lifts in settings where you can’t drop the weight. It will also help you to be more confident instructing the different types of squat when you know the exact science of the anatomical and biomechanical differences between the various lifts.

Amazing course that addresses all the smallest details of Olympic Lifts for very beginners, even at public gyms. All aspects from specific warm ups to the highest level progression were covered so thoroughly, I can't wait to implement them in my practice. I would definitely recommend this course for any PTs who are seeking a more professional approach to training and client's progressions, whether they are general population, fat loss clients or elite athletes.
