Let me see your training programs and I can tell you what books you have read (2)
Last week we looked at a top 10 list of theoretical books.
Here is a top 11 list of more practical resources
- Chek, P. - www.chekinstitute.com (correspondance courses and educations)
- Poliquin, C. - www.charlespoliquin.com
- Tsatsouline, P. - www.dragondoor.com (books and DVDs)
- Sonnon, S. - www.rmaxinternational.com (books and DVDs)
- Louie Simmons - www.westsidebarbell.com
- Sports Speed by Dintiman, Ward and Tellez
- Encyclopedia of Weightlifting, Dreschler, A.
- Dr Michael Yessis (Don’t have any of his books, but have read a few articles and I think his material is a notch above most of what is out there.)
- John Brookfield (grip training) (www.ironmind.com)
- Dennis Rogers (grip training) (www.dennisrogers.com)
- www.ultimateathleteconcepts.com has some really cool books by some of the great Russians.
Both www.elitefts.com and www.ironmind.com have an extensive online store with quite a bit of practical books that look very promising.
For speed, agility, quickness I have learned most of what I know from Santana, Farentinos and I liked D. Chus first book on plyometric training.
I would be honoured to learn which books are on YOUR “top 10″ book list and would greatly appreciate your comment below (and I am sure the other readers of this blog would like that too).
PS: Don’t feel you have enough time to read? Look forward to “The Flexible Periodization Method” that has 16 years of reasearch condensed in one practical book.
PPS: Make sure to read next week’s blog, where I reveal one of the 16 key features built into “The Flexible Periodization Method”.
